Aicha Drinking Chocolate
Mint dark hot chocolate, made in Ghana. Cool, deep and quietly surprising: Dakar, in a cup.
Aicha remembers afternoons of ataya, Senegal's three-cup mint tea ceremony, poured slowly and made for long conversation. Chef Selassie first shared it after a family meal in Dakar and never forgot it. We pair cool mint with single-origin Ghanaian dark chocolate, to be lingered over and shared.
Tasting notes: dark chocolate, fresh mint, a clean finish.
How to make it
Whisk 30 g (about 3 tablespoons) into a splash of hot milk to make a smooth paste. Add the rest of an 8 oz cup and heat gently, whisking, until it just simmers.
Try it iced on a warm afternoon, or topped with whipped cream for the holidays.
